As automated as Kato’s has become, we are still highly reliant on manual labour. This type of worker has become a scarce resource in Canada and in recent years we’ve not been able to find enough people to fill these positions, so in 2006 Kato’s began employing seasonal workers from Mexico. These young men have become an integral component of the company and have made a very positive impact on the nursery. We are very thankful to them and look forward to their annual return.
